As our teams grow, we seek our next Process Development Manager to join our team.

Every day is different at The Bread Factory, but here are some of the things you will be doing:

  • You will co-ordinate and in conjunction with the production team run factory trials. Collate the relevant data and samples required for internal stakeholders' review, customer submission and validations.
  • You will ensure that trials are documented in a trial report which captures the details of the trial such as a recipe, line settings, adjustments made through the trial if any, SPC data where applicable and any other relevant process information.
  • You will be part of the team that will commission any new equipment acquired to ensure there is a smooth transition from the previous production process/technique to the new.
  • Collect objective product measurements from the trials eg dimensions, aw, pH and any other relevant measures identified
  • Input relevant information into product records/product packs for the new product before launch. I.e. Ensuring production trial and relevant process documents are audit-ready
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of a Product and Process Technologists


Our team tells us you will be a great addition if you have experience in:

  • Developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge and understanding of the site's manufacturing capabilities, systems, and processing parameters
  • Developing strong working relationships with colleagues across the business to ensure trials are organised effectively and products are launched on time and in line with business objectives and customers' expectations
  • With previous experience in a similar role, you will be familiar with operating root cause analysis techniques for problem-solving and can evaluate and interpret shelf life results. You will be an expertise in the interpretation of customer code of practice with strong food legislation and legal knowledge Understanding of HACCP and site technical standards
