As our teams grow, we seek our next Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team.


Job Purpose

Ensure all plant, equipment & site services are maintained and repaired in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner while ensuring all plants are run to maximum efficiency.

Manage the engineering resource and ensure compliance with all current codes of practice including TBF standards and any statutory compliance


What do our Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers do?

Our Engineer performs preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance and supports our operators to ensure safe, efficient, and timely recoveries from any plant stoppage. The successful applicant will be responsible for various reactive and proactive maintenance activities that will help optimize performance. Your can-do attitude, enthusiasm, and problem-solving skills will be used well. Every day is different at The Bread Factory, but here are some of the things you will be doing:

  • Ensure that the equipment and plant are maintained.
  • React to breakdowns quickly and efficiently.
  • PLC fault finding to input and output level.
  • Remedy issues highlighted by our in-house HAACP audits.
  • Respond to out-of-hours calls for breakdowns.

  • Redesign machine operations and process technology.
  • Enhance the machine’s reliability through regular planned preventative maintenance.
  • Develop the quality of the product and output.


Our team tells us you will be a great addition if you…

  • Are a logical thinker with an assertive approach to resolving issues and faults.
  • Electrically and mechanically skilled, with electrical preference and hold, at a minimum, an engineering-based NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification (C&G 2330 or similar).
  • Preferably holding an HNC (Level 4) or equivalent qualification in an electrical/mechanical engineering discipline and previous control/instrumentation experience would be highly desirable.
  • Are a self-starter
  • Qualified to (or be prepared to qualify to) Electrical Installations BS7671:2008 (2382-15) 18th Edition and upgrade as new Editions are released.
  • Understand OEE and equipment performance metrics.
  • Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to record planned maintenance and reactive tasks.
  • Experience with bakery machinery.
  • Have HAACP awareness.
  • Troubleshooting on electrical equipment is a must


Shift Times:

6 am- 6 pm & 6 pm-6 am: 2 days Day shift and 2 days Night shift on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
