The Bread Factory is a Food Manufacturing bakery that makes deliciously crafted bread, cakes, and pastries. We are proud to craft products for our GAIL’s bakeries, neighborhood grocery stores, restaurants, and more!


As our teams grow, we seek our next Supply Planner to join our Milton Keynes team.


The successful candidate will coordinate and optimise the flow of materials and production schedules to ensure seamless manufacturing operations. This role is crucial in maintaining inventory levels, reducing production costs, and ensuring timely delivery of products.



Every day is different at The Bread Factory, but here are some of the things you will be doing:


Materials Planning:

  • Develop and implement materials planning strategies to ensure the availability of necessary materials for production.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues related to material quality or availability.


Production Scheduling:

  • Create and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer demand and company objectives.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure schedules are adhered to and adjust plans as necessary to accommodate changes in demand or production issues.
  • Monitor production progress and address any delays or disruptions promptly.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and reduce costs.
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast future material needs and prevent shortages.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure alignment on production goals and material requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall production performance.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Utilize data analysis tools to track production metrics and identify trends.
  • Generate reports on production performance, material usage, and inventory levels for management review.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve planning processes.


Accountabilities:

  • On-Time Delivery:
  • Ensure that materials are available and production schedules are met to guarantee on-time delivery of finished products.


Inventory Accuracy:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and achieve inventory accuracy targets.


Cost Control:

  • Implement cost-saving measures in materials planning and inventory management.


Process Improvement:

  • Identify and execute process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce waste


Stakeholder Communication

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve issues promptly.



Our team tells us you will be a great addition if you have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in materials planning, production planning, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of managing inventory and production schedules effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Proactive and able to anticipate and address potential issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
