Job Objective


Supervise central kitchen production on a daily basis, delivering the highest quality product through the supervision, motivation and coaching of the teams whilst on duty. In charge of daily delivery of Quality, On Time, In Full (QUOTIF).

Working Hours:

Mon-Sun, any 5 days out of 7. Flexibility is required in relation to working hours.


Person Specification


  • Experience and confidence in managing a shift in a kitchen/food production environment, with teams of up to 15-20 staff members
  • Cooking knowledge: proficient in standard cooking techniques (knife skills, cooking, roasting, seasoning, making sauces/dressings/dips, plating) and able to train others
  • Attention to detail and capability of keeping yourself and your staff responsible for standards
  • Good working knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, Health & Safety in a kitchen environment
  • Proactive and a problem solver capable of working independently (there will be times when you will be the most senior person on site)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- can influence and motivate others
  • 'Hands-on' approach
  • Able to work and manage others under pressure


Duties


  • Managing staff performance, timekeeping, and absence
  • Organisation of shifts on an ongoing basis, to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Keeping the standards of quality, cleanliness, paperwork, efficiency and safety of the unit on your shift
  • Establish a good working relationship with other departments (engineers, packing teams, technical and H&S auditors)
  • Daily closing report to management on production challenges/information encountered in your shift
  • Management and development of practical interviews and new starters
  • Manage productivity levels in line with budgeted expectations, including overtime
  • Food Safety, H&S, GMP
