Job Objective Supervise central kitchen production on a daily basis, delivering the highest quality product through the supervision, motivation and coaching of the teams whilst on duty. Person Specification <ul><li>Experience and confidence in managing a shift in a kitchen/food production environment, with teams of up to 15-20 staff members</li><li>Cooking knowledge: proficient in standard cooking techniques (knife skills, cooking, roasting, seasoning, making sauces/dressings/dips, plating) and able to train others</li><li>Attention to detail and capability of keeping yourself and your staff responsible for standards</li><li>Good working knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, Health &amp; Safety in a kitchen environment</li><li>Proactive and a problem solver capable of working independently (there will be times when you will be the most senior person on site)</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- can influence and motivate others</li><li>&#39;Hands-on&#39; approach</li><li>Able to work and manage others under pressure</li></ul> Duties <ul><li>Managing staff performance, timekeeping, and absence</li><li>Organisation of shifts on an ongoing basis, to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity</li><li>Keeping the standards of quality, cleanliness, paperwork, efficiency and safety of the unit on your shift</li><li>Establish a good working relationship with other departments (engineers, packing teams, technical and H&amp;S auditors)</li><li>Daily closing report to management on production challenges/information encountered in your shift</li><li>Management and development of practical interviews and new starters</li><li>Manage productivity levels in line with budgeted expectations, including overtime</li><li>Food Safety, H&amp;S, GMP</li></ul> This Job Description indicates only the main duties and responsibilities of the role.It is not intended as an exhaustive list.
