About us:

The Bread Factory is the UK's leading artisan bakery. Founded by Gail Meija in 1993, The Bread Factory, originally known as Gail Force, began by supplying some of London's most prestigious restaurants, including many with Michelin stars. More than three decades later, we continue to work closely with the best chefs, alongside grocers, foodservice partners and our own neighbourhood bakery, GAIL's.

The Bread Factory is synonymous with quality. We have been awarded more than 100 Great Taste Awards and have held a Royal Warrant since 2016, when it was first granted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In 2024, the warrant was renewed by His Majesty The King.

We source our ingredients thoughtfully, partnering with farmers and millers who align with our values. The result: delicious, carefully made baked goods that support a more sustainable and nutritious food system; bringing great bread to more tables every day.

Every day is different at The Bread Factory, but here are some of the things you will be doing:

  • Lead the scoping and feasibility of incoming briefs, bringing together the relevant teams to assess requirements, timelines, costs and capacity before project approval.
  • Take ownership of assigned food projects, including new launches and changes to existing products, managing critical paths, milestones and delivery against agreed time, cost and quality.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, chair meetings, agree actions and hold stakeholders accountable for their deliverables.
  • Own the Stage & Gate process for assigned projects, organising reviews and ensuring the right evidence, functional approvals and decisions are in place.
  • Manage project risks, dependencies and changes, identify practical solutions and escalate issues requiring business decisions.
  • Monitor project performance, identify delays, cost implications and resource conflicts, and drive corrective action with the relevant teams.
  • Maintain project plans and systems, producing clear reports, presentations and escalations for project teams and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate launch readiness and handover across the business, ensuring all functions are prepared and capturing lessons after launch.

Our team tells us you will be a great addition if you have:

  • Experience managing product launches or complex cross-functional projects, ideally within food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Confident leading project teams, influencing stakeholders and holding people accountable without direct authority.
  • Strong planning, organisational and risk management skills, with good commercial awareness.
  • Comfortable working across production sites and understanding the practical challenges of manufacturing and launching products.
  • Able to see the bigger picture while keeping on top of the detail.
  • A clear communicator who can present project information, risks and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, practical and resilient, with the confidence to make things happen and find solutions when plans change.
  • A genuine interest in food, quality and bringing great products to market.

What’s in it for you:

  • Fresh bread daily to take home to enjoy with family and friends.
  • 50% discount at GAIL’s and 40% off at The Bread Factory & The Flour Station Markets.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Discounts and Savings from high-street retailers and restaurants
  • 24-hour GP service
  • Cycle to work scheme
